How billing works
Every plan includes a monthly credit allowance; team plans are priced per seat and pool each seat's allowance across the team. Credits are what model usage draws down, and you can add more at any time.
Plans include a monthly credit allowance
Credits are issued every month, including on term and annual plans, and you can top up at any time.
Every assistant has a spend limit
Assistant owners cap the credits a single message can cost, which also bounds how much context that message is allowed to pull in.
Administrators see where credits go
Organization usage reporting breaks spend down by day, member, assistant, and category, with CSV export.

Questions about plans and credits
Compare plan eligibility, billing periods, credits, top-ups, and payment options.
Which pricing section and billing period should I use?
The Student section includes the education-priced Student plan plus general personal Standard and Premium plans. The Faculty section includes Individual Educator and Team plans, while Institution covers custom campus deployments. Education plans require a valid educational email; term billing is available only on the Student and Individual Educator plans, while other published plans show the periods they support.
What are credits?
Credits measure model-powered usage across messages, source processing, and enabled tools. Every plan includes a monthly allowance, including term and annual plans, and different models and tools consume credits at different rates. Current rates and examples are listed in the Billing Documentation.
How should I read the estimated message counts?
The counts on each pricing card are planning estimates based on the displayed model tier's minimum spend limit. They are not usage guarantees. Actual consumption depends on the model, conversation context, source retrieval, and tools used for each request.
What is a message spend limit?
An assistant owner sets the maximum number of credits one message can use. That limit also bounds how much context the message can pull in, helping control cost and prevent one request from consuming an unexpected amount of the allowance.
How does the welcome offer work?
An eligible account receives a one-time $10 discount on its first subscription invoice, whether the subscription is personal or organization-owned. On a monthly Student plan, that can make the first month $0, but it is not a permanent free plan. Checkout shows the final charge and renewal terms for the selected plan.
What happens if I run out of credits?
You can purchase additional credits when the included allowance is not enough. Additional credits are valid for a fixed period from purchase (three months by default, shown on each bundle at checkout), and credits that expire soonest are used first. Self-service accounts can make up to two additional credit purchases per month; larger or recurring needs can be discussed with the Alkimi team.
How are Team and Institutional plans different?
Team plans use published per-seat pricing and pool included credits across all members, so the number of seats sets the monthly allowance rather than the number of members. Institutional plans use custom pricing and credit allocation based on deployment size, onboarding, support, governance, and integration needs. Institutional buyers should request a scoped proposal rather than estimating a campus rollout from individual plans.
Can I change or cancel a plan, and how can I pay?
Plan upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Self-service subscriptions accept major cards through Stripe, and institutional agreements can support invoicing or bank transfer. Refunds are generally not offered; billing errors can be reviewed by support, but a refund is not guaranteed.
Not sure which plan fits?
Start on an individual plan and add members when you need them, or talk with our team about department and campus-wide rollout.
Education plans require a valid educational email. Institutional pricing is scoped in a proposal; the request submits an inquiry, not a purchase.
